Deleting your account
You can delete your Nota account yourself, at any time.
How
- Sign in to Nota, on the web or in the app.
- Open Settings, then Your account.
- Choose Delete my account, and type what it asks for to confirm.
Can’t sign in? Ask us from the email address on your account, and we will delete it for you.
What is deleted
Your sign-in and your account: your email address, your name, and your phone’s notification token.
If you are the only owner of your business, deleting your account also closes the business. Nobody can sign in to it again; its drafts, and customers you never issued a document to, are deleted; links you sent to customers stop working.
What is kept, and for how long
Invoices and quotes that were issued, and receipts that were kept, are tax records. The law requires a business’s records to be kept for a period — generally five years — so they are kept until that period ends, and nobody can sign in to a closed business to see them. When it ends they will be deleted; until that is automatic, we delete them on request. If you are leaving a business that carries on, what you issued stays with that business, without your name.
Want a copy first? An owner can download everything from Settings → Your data before deleting.
